Atlantic City Convention Center and Atlantic City Convention & Visitors Authority Receive 2009 MeetingNews Planners’ Choice Awards

(Atlantic City, NJ, December 3, 2009) The Atlantic City Convention Center has been named one of the best Convention Centers and The Atlantic City Convention & Visitors Authority (ACCVA,) has been named one of the best Convention & Visitors Bureaus in the 2009 MeetingNews Planners’ Choice Awards.

The 2009 MeetingNews Planners’ Choice Awards, the mark of excellence for meeting destinations, distinguish these organizations as having done an outstanding job servicing meetings, and for quality of incentive travel programs, trade shows and conventions during the previous year.

According to Gary Musich, ACCVA vice president convention sales, “Our convention center and CVA staffs constantly work to meet our clients’ expectations. Being named for these awards certainly underlines the quality of what we’re doing in Atlantic City.”

The Atlantic City Convention Center, an SMG managed facility, was reviewed on the service and expertise of the on-site convention center staff, design and quality of exhibit space, conference and break-out rooms, quality of food service, environment and availability of the location and recycling, energy conservation and other green initiatives.

The Atlantic City Convention & Visitors Authority was reviewed on the service and expertise of the convention authority staff, quality and number of services provided, timely response and follow-up to questions and problems, and aid with community initiatives.

For the 2009 MeetingNews Planners’ Choice Awards, readers voted for the facilities and the bureaus that have exceeded their expectations in the meetings setting. MeetingNews’ audience of corporate and association executives with meeting planning responsibilities registered to become Planners’ Choice reviewers via online ballots.

The 2009 MeetingNews Planners’ Choice winners list will be published in the December 21, 2009 issue of MeetingNews.
